Dolcetto translates as “little sweet one”, which is a fairly accurate definition of this wine – friendly, juicy-driven and works perfectly with all sorts of delicious Italian dishes.
Produced in the heart of Barolo country (where Nebbiolo and Barbera are the grape varieties of choice), Dolcetto is often over-looked. Yet Anna Maria Abbona has produced a stunning example of just how good it can be when treated with care. Don’t ignore this wine – it won’t disappoint.
Deliciously ripe and accessible and can even cope with being served a little chilled. Alternatively, will mature for the next 10 years if given a chance…!
Anna Maria’s wines are made from organically grown grapes, using old vines planted by her grandfater in the 1930s.
