This producer really does care for his vines, retaining them in pristine condition and continually re-planting to improve the exceptionnal character of his exquisite wines. The vineyard has been under the same family ownership since the 1700s, so heritage and experience play a big part here.
Aged gently in small French oak barrels, the winery tends towards minimal intervention in the making of the wine. They neither fine nor filter so as not to strip the wine of any of its fabulous flavour. But do watch out for a light sediment in the base of the bottle. This is a wonderful, ‘can’t get enough’, traditional Chianti Classico with earthy red cherries and hints of tobacco. Medium-bodied with super fruit on the palate and excellent structure.
