We paired this glorious wine with a dish of spring lamb with carrot and cumin puree at our consumer tasting in spring 2019, and the combination was outstanding.
Simon Hackett doesn’t mess about with the quality of his wines. He sources only the best fruit with which he makes sublime wines. His ‘old vines’ are ridiculously old, enhancing the structure and elegance of the wine. Curiously, the colour suggests a lot of age and development, but that’s just the colour of the Grenache grape.
This wine isn’t old, but it is developed. Fruit-dominated with a sun drenched purity that fills the corners of your mouth. Whiffs of plump, sweet berries make this bright and up-beat.
One of Hannibal’s favourites – give it a go, it’s worth every penny.
