Tenerife, Canary Islands

Tenerife is alive with vineyards, planted on volcanic soils and producing great wines with class and bags of character. The Canaries have never suffered from the Phylloxera bug and so the vines are ancient, dating back to the early 1900s. This would generally mean yields are lower, but the gentle climate protects the vine and there is no shortage of grape production. Read more about what makes wine organic here>

Vesuvius, Italy

Grown on volcanic soils of the southern slopes of Mount Vesuvius.  the Sorrentino family harvest their grapes manually harvested around the end of September and fermented in stainless steel.  No oak is used and they practice 100% organic production.  You get a fabulous minerality and 'healthiness' to the wine, arguably a style unique to vines grown on volcanic soils.  You'll see what I mean when you taste it.

Bright, fruity aromas, things like cherry, strawberry, then spices and  a bit of vanilla, coffee, chocolate.  This Aglianico is fairly full-bodied, there are soft tannins which work wonderfully with food accompaniments.
